International Students Support Center of New York is excited to announce the registration for New York City Summer Housing open! The registration period will begin on March 13, 2009 and will continue through April 30, 2009. No guarantee of spaces can be given for reservations received after April 30, 2009!

Dates: Summer housing is available from Friday, May 1, 2009 through September 30, 2009.

Fees: The costs of housing offered by ISSC NY, Inc is $450 per month. Candidates, will also have to pay $150 security deposit fee at the time of reservation.

Reservations received after April 30, 2009 will be assessed an additional fee of $25 which must also be paid at the time of reservation.

*** Students, after arrival will have a chance to make weekly payments for their housing in the amount of $100 per week.

Registration procedures: All interested individuals/agencies are encouraged to register as early as possible. Full fees must be paid at the time of registration to secure spaces. Payments are accepted by bank wires only.

All individuals/agencies interested in reserving housing spaces must email or fax (at +1-212-937-3260) their completed reservation forms to housing@isscny.org; forms are available for download here…

Once completed reservation forms are received, invoices for payments will be generated and sent out – once full payment is received, summer housing confirmation will be emailed.

No walk-in registrations are available.  

The information provided below will help interested individuals/agencies to better understand the type of summer housing offered and other applicable policies.

Check-in/Move-in Date: Check-in and move-in dates will be available on a flexible schedule from 10am to 4 pm.

Students per room: Usually, 2-4 students are place per bedroom, depending on room size
Gender policy: Females and males live separately, however, couples, that prefer to live together may send a request which can be accommodated.

Guests policy: Guest are permitted for summer students.

Mail services:  Students may provide their apartment address to receive mail.
However, students may also provide the below listed address should they wish to receive mail from June 1, 2009 through July 31, 2009:

Laundry services: The Laundromat Machines are available in the walking distance from apartment you will be living in; however, some apartments and condos have wash machines, which is not guaranteed.

Room description: Most of the rental rooms are nice and are in after-renovation conditions. Usually, each rental apartment/condo has ½ bathrooms/toilets, several closets, kitchen and a living room and several bed-rooms. 
Please, keep in mind that all power outlets are U.S. standard styles. Students who have laptops and/or other electronic devices may wish to bring power outlet adaptors or purchase ones at a store.

Linen & furniture: All summer students will have their own bed, mattress, desk, desk chair, dresser and closet. However, students are recommended to bring their own linen.

Parking: Parking is available in the area.

Helpful packing information: Alarm Clock, Coins (quarters for laundry), desk lamp, desk supplies, first aid supplies, flashlight (no candles), iron, laundry bag, laundry soap, power strips/surge protectors, pillows, radio, stamps (mail), stationary, toiletries, waste basket, and umbrella.
